1968 Targa Florio

Maciej Plucinski is a designer and artist in Poland.  I met him through Pawel of CarBone and I liked his drawings, so I asked him to do one for me.  He likes drawing cars, but his passion is architecture.  Knowing this I knew I wanted to do the Targa Florio and of course I picked 1968.

1968 Targa Florio is known as the race that Vic Elford had lug nut trouble twice in the first couple laps and fell 18 minutes behind.  Elford thinking winning was unlikely decided to drive the 907 like a madman and break the lap record.  He ended up coming from behind to win the race by 3 minutes.  He also beat the overall race record by nearly 10 minutes and gave Porsche their 8th Targa Florio win.
